Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has called for equal application of the law after Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja missed a meeting with leaders of the United Opposition. Service must be our earnest endeavor, service to the constitution, service to the people. Malala alleged that opposition leaders and supporters have faced harassment, intimidation and violation of rights across the country. The letter said more than 20 incidents involving opposition leaders, including gachagua and other opposition activities were documented in the letter. Opposition leaders were also said to have faced attacks in Naivasha later that month.
