Justice Syed Muhammad Dastagir Husain made the allegation while speaking as chief guest at a programme at Rajshahi University on Monday. Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha's name was on the invitation letter of the programme to mark the 22nd anniversary of the university's law department. But Justice Sinha did not come. At one stage of his speech, Justice Dastagir started to speak about the judiciary' independence. The chief justice always asks for it, but the ministry does not care," he said.
