Law Minister Anisul Huq during a meeting with different EU (European Union) ambassadors on Sunday, May 19, 2019 PIDThe High Court has recently issued a gazette regarding reporting of pending casesThere are no obstacles when it comes to reporting and writing about pending cases, but journalists should avoid inserting personal opinions. The remarks were made by Law Minister Anisul Huq while talking to the media, after a meeting with different EU (European Union) ambassadors on Sunday. Talking to the media regarding a notification signed by the High Court registrar, the minister said: "The recently issued gazette notification from the High Court does not create any obstruction when it comes to journalists reporting on a pending case. "However, the gazette notification does tell reporters not to add personal opinions regarding any of the pending cases, as this creates undue pressure on the judges." Addressing the journalists, he said: "I think, you (journos) people will get the same explanation from the Appellate Division regarding the gazette notification."
