The British cycling team of Laura Kenny and Katie Archibald swept to victory to crown Kenny as the first British woman to win gold medals at three consecutive Games, as Team GB achieved podium finishes in seven other events today. Kate French won gold in the modern pentathlon, while there were silver medals for Jack Carlin in his cycling sprint final and for the men’s 4x100m relay team. British women won bronzes in the pole vault, 1500m and 4x100m relay, as well as the women’s hockey.
