Laura Dern is kicking off the American Lung Association’s 2021 LUNG FORCE walk American Lung AssociationShe won her first Oscar just last year, but today, Laura Dern is championing a different kind of effort, one that continues to affect women and men everywhere. “Lung cancer is the number one cancer killer in women,” Laura tells Forbes. “When I was about six years old, I lost my grandfather to lung cancer and was living with him and my grandmother at the time. So I have very strong memories, both around the disease and the loss.” Laura’s desire to make a difference comes in the midst of this Women’s Lung Health Week, as she participates in Lung Force, an uplifting event that unites women and their loved ones across the country to stand together for lung health and against lung cancer.
