Stage six loadshedding is anticipated to persist the whole week as generating unit breakdowns continue to plague Eskom. While South Africa’s weekend forecast suggested a decrease to loadshedding stage three, the country went down to stage four in the early hours of Saturday and then stage five in the early afternoon. Since Saturday morning, a generating unit each at Duvha, Lethabo and Medupi power stations have returned to service. Also on Saturday a generation unit each at Majuba, Medupi and Tutuka power stations were taken out of service due to breakdowns. It thanked South African who heeded the call to use electricity sparingly and alleviate pressure on the power system.
