Strength:On Monday morning, Florence quickly strengthened to a Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of 130 mph. With little to interfere with its strength, Florence should remain a powerful hurricane as it approaches North Carolina, but winds will decrease after landfall. Forecast track:The storm will continue moving west-northwest toward North Carolina. Generally, the inland wind threat will be higher across the far southern tier of the state.
