Saints Louis Martin and Zélie Guerin Born into a military family in Bordeaux, Louis trained to become a watchmaker. Louis died in 1894, a few months after being committed to a sanitarium. Louis and Zélie were beatified in 2008, and canonized by Pope Francis on October 18, 2015. Luke 16:19-31 19 "There was a rich man, who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. 22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's bosom.
