The Regina Pats stole a point from the Winnipeg Ice on Friday night, but they couldn’t get away with two. Regina’s Riley Krane scored twice in the final 81 seconds of regulation, erasing a 2-0 deficit to force overtime. The single point allowed Regina to finish 3-3-1 on a season-long stretch of seven consecutive road games. The single point was enough for Regina (6-17-3-0) to climb out of the WHL basement, leapfrogging the Swift Current Broncos and Prince George Cougars (both 6-18-1-2). All three teams are tied with 15 points apiece but Regina — having played one fewer game — owns a superior winning percentage.
