The Queen has always been associated with corgis but the dynasty she has bred appears to be coming to an end. She has had to put down one of her last and most beloved dogs, it was reported last night. Willow, who was approaching 15 years old, was understood to be the last pedigree descendent of Susan, the Queen’s first corgi companion, who was given to the then Princess Elizabeth on her 18th birthday. It is said that Willow had been suffering from a cancer-related illness and the Queen agreed that she be put down at Windsor Castle on Sunday.
