On Tuesday, the countdown to a House floor vote on the Obamacare Repeal Bill took a crucial step. House Republicans “bill managers” announced changes to their bill in a 43 page “manager’s amendment.” They hope to buy support mainly from the party’s right wing, not from party moderates. First, the managers push up the repeal of Obamacare taxes from 2018 to 2017. This is an extra huge giveaway to the very richest, basically the top 1%, who paid the Obamacare taxes. Let’s hope that the Medicaid recipients don’t have their existing ailments worsened by the new requirements – and thereby costing that much more.
