SRINAGAR: One Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist was killed while two others escaped during an encounter with security forces in Samboora village in Pulwama district on Sunday night, police said on Monday.A police spokesman said that encounter broke out on late Sunday night after army and police cordoned off the area following inputs about the presence of terrorists. The official said that Awantipora Police, 50 RR and CRPF jointly participated in the encounter in which the LeT terrorist, identified as Umer of Pakistan, was killed. "Two militants escaped from the encounter site, one among them was injured. One AK-47 rifle was seized from the encounter site," the spokesman said. "The traffic movement was also witnessed in the district," he said, adding that the search operation was launched in Pinglin near B. ED College where negligible clashes took place.
