NewsA stock military hardware suspected to have belonged to the LTTE have been unearthed from a well in Thelippalai, Kurumbansetti. The hardware, which includes mortar and artillery shells, were recovered on September 25 by officers from the Special Task Force's (STF) camp in Jaffna. Thelippalai police had then notified the Mallakam Magistrate's Court and obtained a court order permitting the STF to inspect the well. Accordingly, STF personnel who searched the well were able to recover a large stock of military hardware hidden inside the well. Further inspections of the well would be carried out and the recovered items would be subsequently destroyed, police stated.
