Fire crews dampen down the scene of a large scrub fire that broke out near homes on Kaiangaroa Place in Napier. A large fire that broke out in Napier has been extinguished. Fire services scrambled to bring the blaze, near Kaiangaroa Place in the suburb of Bay View, under control after it broke out about 9.30am. Fire communications central shift manager Belinda Beets said the large grass fire had been brought under control. No properties were damaged in the fire, which broke out near a number of houses.
