Otago fire crews have extinguished a large house fire in Tower Road, Milton. Fire and Emergency NZ shift supervisor Simon Lyford said two crews were sent to the property at 5.30am. The property was about 10 by 20 metres, and was on the outskirts of the town. A police spokesperson said it was unclear whether the fire was suspicious, but the property had been empty, which was why police were advised. The house is the only residential property on Tower Rd, which runs alongside a railway track, and sits next to a timber yard.
