A large fire that broke out in an apartment building in the Auckland suburb of Onehunga has been extinguished. A member of the public called in to report the fire and advised that everyone was out of the building, she said. He then saw a “massive fire” in an apartment building near the Barfoot and Thompson shop. “We now have fire crews on scene from Onehunga, Ellerslie, Mount Roskill, Auckland Central, Remuera, Avondale, Balmoral, Otahuhu, Mangere, Papatoetoe and Parnell fire stations.
