Former Senator Lito Lapid will join the senatorial race in 2019, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III disclosed on Thursday. A week before the start of the filing of certificates of candidacy, Lapid and his son, former Pampanga Gov. Mark Lapid, took their oaths as new members of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC). Sotto said Senator JV Ejercito will also take his oath as a new NPC member next week.
