The first namaz-e-janaza of Ahmed Ali will be held at his village home in Kajlia village of Brahmanbaria at 10am on Saturday. Ahmed Ali became MLA of Gana Parishad in the 1970 election from greater Comilla-5 constituency (now Brahmanbaria 5). In a condolence message, the prime minister recalled with profound respect the contributions of Ahmed Ali to the Liberation War and Bangladesh Awami League. “The country and nation have suffered an irreparable loss in the death of an organizer of the liberation war and a political leader like Ahmed Ali,” she said.
