MANILA, Philippines — Top officials gave their assurance yesterday that the state-run Land Bank of the Philippines will continue to focus its lending activities in the agriculture sector. “Landbank will comply with the instructions of President Duterte. We will continue to lend to the various players in the agriculture sector, with focus on small farmers and fishers,” Borromeo said. However, Dominguez said Landbank still needs to extend commercial loans given the size of its resources. “Landbank also performs critical functions, such as distributing funds to Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and Pantawid Pasada beneficiaries,” he said.
