Thousands of police officers have been told not to download the NHS virus tracing app to their work mobiles. Officers at Lancashire Constabulary have also been told they should not carry their personal phones on duty and should ignore self-isolation warnings via the app on their own mobiles. The force has reportedly told staff to call the force's own Covid-19 helpline instead of oberying the app's self-isolation commands. Some constabularies do not allow officers to download 'third party' apps on their work phones whereas others are more lenient.
