ILIGAN CITY – Heavily-armed men ambushed the convoy of Masiu, Lanao del Sur Mayor Nasser Pangandaman Jr. Sunday morning in the municipality of Buadipuso-Buntong. Colonel Madzgani Mukaram, Lanao del Sur police chief, said Pangandaman Jr. was heading to his office from Marawi City when the gunmen, armed with high-powered firearms waylaid his convoy in Barangay Gata. ADVERTISEMENTPangandaman survived the attack, although a police escort, Staff Sergeant Jabbar Romato Pangandaman and two civilian companions were wounded. Masiu town is under the area of operation of the 49IB while Buadiposo Buntong, where the ambush happened is under the 82nd IB. A Special Investigation Task Group will also be activated to help monitor the progress of this case,” Mukaram said.
