By KALUME KAZUNGUMore by this AuthorBus operators and passengers plying Lamu-Mombasa road are accusing police manning roadblocks of harassment and bias. There are at least three police road blocks on the road where all public service vehicles have to stop and passengers are required to alight for a thorough inspection for security reasons. All the vehicles plying the road are also required to travel in a convoy under police protection. Normally, the convoy stops for several minutes at each roadblock to enable security checks to be conducted. Vehicles plying the route were also banned from operating at night.
