On Wednesday morning, Lalu Prasad Yadav, the former Chief Minister of Bihar and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and his wife and their daughter RJP MP Misa Bharti are granted bail by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court for land-for-jobs case. The case is related to a case of alleged irregularities in the allotment of properties by Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi in exchange for jobs when they were in power in Bihar. The bail was granted by Special Judge Geetanjali Goel to the accused. Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav arrived in a wheelchair in his first court appearance post a kidney transplant in Singapore three months ago. The court granted them bail citing the fact that they were “charge sheeted without arrest” and there would be “no need for arrest at the instance of the court”.
