ISAAC SHOBAYO writes on the issues arising from the recent killings in Benue State and Plateau State governor’s recommendation of building ranches across the state. Many would want to believe that since his sojourn in politics he has never had it so rough like he experienced in the past few days over his outburst concerning the killings in Benue state. He was quoted to have said that he advised his Benue State counterpart, Samuel Ortom, against implementing the anti-grazing law in his state. “As a matter of fact, Benue and Nasarawa states were created out of the old Benue Plateau State. However, analysts posited that Governor Lalong comments on cattle colonies and ranching coupled with his speech on the killings in Benue State raised a question if he could protect Plateau’s interest when the chips are down.
