Liverpudlians seemingly are the biggest fans of The Lakes’ for romance, two-thirds (66%) said they would consider it the ultimate engagement backdrop. And one very famous scouser picked the Lakes for his proposal to ex-wife Heather Mills. The pair famously got engaged at the Sharrow Bay Hotel in 2001. They chose the Sharrow Bay Hotel on Ullswater, where Sir Paul proposed over lunch.
