The Times newspaper have ran their annual survey naming the best places to stay in the UK for 2025- with six Cumbrian hotels making the shortlist. In the article, The Times newspaper said: "Every year, our team of experienced reviewers stay at hundreds of properties across the UK and we cherry pick the best for our annual survey." At least they are if you stay at the Gilpin, a luxurious estate in 21 acres of romantically rolling countryside near Windermere. Named at 25th, The Brackenrigg Inn has been praised by the paper saying 'the revamped Brackenrigg Inn couldn’t be more local. Lindeth Fell Country House, Cumbria grabbed the 26th spot with the paper saying the venue is “a proper English country house”.
