Minister of Works, David Umahi, during an inspection of the Calabar–Itu Road and Sections 3A and 3B of the 71.4-kilometre stretch of the 750-kilometre highway currently under construction in Cross River StateThe Minister of Works, David Umahi, has said that the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will be tolled as soon as it is completed and inaugurated. Umahi stated this on Saturday in Lagos during an inspection tour of the project. He said, “I must emphasise that this road is going to be tolled by the contractor; it is part of the package. “Hitech has to be at this risk, and that is part of its contribution in building our nation,” he said. NAN reports that Hitech Construction Company Limited is the contractor handling the project.
