CRETE -- The Beatrice girls basketball team went into Crete Tuesday night and did what no other team has done this season -- knock off the top-ranked and undefeated Lady Cardinals. Beatrice claimed the B5 subdistrict championship with a 39-32 win over Crete. The win avenges a 10 point loss to Crete in the second game of the season clear back in December. Second year Beatrice coach Jalen Weeks said he couldn't be more proud of how his girls "grinded out" the win. "I think we learned a lot from the first loss to Crete as well as the other losses we had this season," Weeks said.
