By IAN BYRON More by this AuthorThe family of the late Ohangla musician Maureen Akinyi, popularly known as Lady Maureen, has asked for ODM party’s help in granting her a befitting sendoff. Her father Johannes Odero said on Saturday that the family was struggling to raise funds to secure a burial site following her death earlier in the day. "We are experiencing a serious cash crunch and going by the Luo community’s traditions, it is taboo to have her remains interred in her father's compound so we have to find an alternative burial site,” said Mr Odero. He said she will be buried outside the family home should they fail to find a site. Lady Maureen’s younger brother, Brian Otieno, a budding reggae musician, said she mentored him before she fell ill and promised to help him launch his first album.
