The Lady Jet Spikers kicked off their campaign with a four-set victory over the Perlas-BanKo Spikers last July 1 but succumbed to Alyssa Valdez and the Creamline Cool Smashers last Sunday. They, however, hope to rebound in their 4 p.m. clash with the Lady Maroons, who dropped their first two games to the Pocari Sweat and the BaliPure sides. Air Force coach Jasper Jimenez is expected to bank on Iari Yongco, Jocemer Tapic, Mary Ann Pantino and veteran Joy Cases as the Jet Spikers face the young UP side priming up for the UAAP wars. The Power Smashers, for one, will be trying to shed off their “heartbreak team” tag after bowing to the Water Defenders and the Lady Warriors in a pair of five setters. Gamboa Coffee Mix and Instituto Estetico Manila mix it up in the other match at 1 p.m.
