THE Partido Reporma on Sunday dismissed reports that its standard-bearer, Sen. Panfilo "Ping" Lacson, intends to withdraw from the presidential race in 2022. Lacson, chairman of Partido Reporma, and his longtime ally Senate President Vicente "Tito" Sotto 3rd on September 8 formally announced their candidacies for president and vice president in next year's polls. The Partido Reporma warned the public against "an ongoing misinformation campaign claiming allegedly that Sen. Panfilo Lacson has or is withdrawing his candidacy for President in the May 2022 elections." "Nothing could be further from the truth," Partido Reporma spokesperson Ashley Acedillo said. Acedillo noted that Lacson and Sotto were present in the recent Partido Reporma event in Tagum City, Davao del Norte where over 200 individuals took their oath as party members.
