By RICK GREEN, LACONIA DAILY SUNLACONIA — A yearlong fundraising drive for the Boys and Girls Club has collected about $160,000 for operational costs, and the success of this effort will allow the organization to move forward with plans for a preschool next academic year, said Chris Emond, the organization's executive director. The donations will allow the club to continue offering financial aid for young people who can't afford dues. Speaking at the breakfast, Emond said that societal problems with drug abuse make the club's services more important than ever. The Boys and Girls Club can play a huge role in preventing drug use and abuse. “Because of the club, I will continue to spend part of my life from now on helping others find it too,“ he said.
