LACOMBE — If the difference between an era and a dynasty in sports is the difference between three championships and four, then the Lacombe Generals became an Allan Cup dynasty here Saturday. They did it as the host with the most, ending up the six-team tournament against the Innisfail Eagles team coached by former NHL Coach of the Year Brian Sutter who was behind the bench when the Generals won their first one. Taking over the Eagles after five seasons in Bentley the former Calgary Flames bench boss hasn’t been able to win for losing. A pair of empty-net goals in the final minute by Cody Cartier and Todd made it 5-2. Sean Robertson played for the Generals from 2007 to 2017 and took over as coach last year, losing the final 7-4 to Stoney Creek, Ontario.
