The scenario revealed itself during a conference styled “Safe Migration and Preventing Human Trafficking,” held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on Saturday. Addressing the conference, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said: “If any incident of illegal migration takes place or is reported, everybody keeps looking at the Home Ministry. “Time has come to think of how safe migration can be ensured. RAB’s reportA report on illegal migration, submitted to the ministries by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in 2015, too reveals the lack of coordination between the ministries. The report, which was made public in the conference, underscores the need for an effective handling of migration and preventing human trafficking.
