Crime & Punishment of Sunday, 18 January 2026Source: GNAA 25-year-old labourer has been remanded into prison custody by the Toase District Court in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality for allegedly threatening to kill his mother. Police Detective Chief Inspector Ntim Boadu told the court that the complainant, Mariama Haruna, lives with her son, the accused, at Nkawie New Site. On January 5, 2026, around noon, the accused allegedly harvested two bunches of plantain from his mother’s garden. When the complainant confronted him to retrieve the plantain, he allegedly became aggressive, raised a cutlass, and threatened to kill her if she attempted to take them. Fearing for her life, the complainant fled and reported the matter to the Nkawie Police.
