Interestingly, while Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael voters appear very keen on doing a deal with Labour, voters who will give their first preference to Sinn Féin are much less enthused. Senior figures in Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have eyed Labour as the most likely coalition partner, with Fine Gael especially in favour as it views the party as having values similar to its own. The Labour Party is currently polling at 4pc, with no change from the previous surveys at the beginning of November. The Labour Party yesterday launched its children’s rights charter, which promises to cap childcare at €200 per month.
