The complaint, which alleged serious abuses, was lodged by 14 Myanmar workers from Thammakaset Farm – a poultry farm in Lop Buri that was a former supplier of Betagro. Labour officials looked into the case and ordered the employer to pay the workers Bt1.7 million in compensation. However, the migrant workers were unhappy with that payout figure and took the case to the court. On Friday, Region 1 Labour Court dismissed the 14 workers’ additional compensation claim and rejected the case against Betagro completely. The Betagro Group is involved in animal feed production, livestock, animal health products, and the food product businesses.
