Labour and Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern take the lead in new pollMICHAEL BRADLEY National Party leader Bill English is on his way out of Parliament just as Labour and its leader, Jacinda Ardern take first place in a new poll. The Labour Party has had a rapid rise in the polls but at the expense of its coalition and supply and confidence partners. The 1News/Colmar Brunton poll on Monday night had Labour at 48 per cent, up nine percentage points on the last poll in December while National fell three to 43 per cent. Colmar Brunton was out in the field polling between the 10th and 14th of February - National Party leader Bill English announced he was stepping down on February 13. In the preferred Prime Minister polling Jacinda Ardern was up four percentage points to 41 per cent and English dropped eight to 20.
