Industry CorrespondentA new Labour Court recommendation would appear to rule out allowing the HSE to move nurses between locations of up to 40km or so within a single shift as part of a controversial new contract. The Labour Court recommendation says nurses’ rosters may be subject to change and “may provide for a variety of shifts”. These proposals are not contained in the new Labour court recommendation for the proposed contract. Under the new Labour Court recommendation staff nurses would be able to move onto the proposed higher-paid enhanced grade after one year and 16 weeks. The Minister for Health Simon Harris said the Labour Court recommendation represented “a sensible way forward”.
