The leadership of all three political parties is at stake at once and by far the most bitter dispute will be the one that is happening in private, in the Labour Party. Boris Johnson or Jeremy Hunt will, in due course, be prime minister and Jo Swinson or Ed Davey will, soon enough, lead the Liberal Democrats. The simmering dissent against Jeremy Corbyn has to reach boiling point before long. The latest proximate cause is the reinstatement of Chris Williamson, the MP who was caught on camera suggesting that Labour had been too apologetic in response to accusations of antisemitism.
