A regional football academy will be constructed in Laâyoune, part of the efforts made to develop and modernize sports infrastructure in the southern provinces of the Kingdom. The project to cost $10.3 million (100 million dirhams) will be built over 10 hectares and will be completed in two years. The football academy, the largest in the southern provinces, will include 4 football fields with international standards, a training room, an indoor sports center, a clinic, a referee training center, a 100-bed listed hotel, in addition to other facilities. The municipal council of Laâyoune adopted, during its latest ordinary session, the project-related draft agreement as well as the modalities of the city’s contribution to the project. The academy, another milestone in terms of the expanding infrastructures in Laâyoune, will benefit the populations of this city and of all the southern provinces.
