LWMC removes backlog of 12,500 tons of waste


LWMC MD says his teams worked tirele­ssly over the weeken­d to clear heaps of garbag­eLAHORE: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has removed a backlog of 12,500 tons of waste from the city. LWMC Managing Director Khalid Nazir said his teams toiled endlessly over the weekend to clear the waste backlog. Moreover, Nazir said the field staff was instructed to prioritise service delivery to help citizens remove heaps of waste from 550 points. Turkish contractors were ordered to ensure all staff and machinery remained in the field till the city is sparkling. Company Spokesperson Jamil Khawar said LWMC is conducting cleanliness awareness drives at multiple locations to sensitise the public on proper waste disposal.
