MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Thursday warned the public against persons who offer to facilitate the application or renewal of driver’s licenses over social media. “The office of the undersigned has received verified reports on unscrupulous individuals who through social media platforms such as Facebook offer their services to facilitate the application for and/or renewal of driver’s licenses,” LTO chief Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante said in a statement. ADVERTISEMENT“In this connection, we strongly caution our clients and the general public that the aforesaid services are not authorized by the agency, and are therefore patently illegal,” he added. Galvante added that all driver’s licenses, permits, and registration of motor vehicles that will expire during the enhanced community quarantine period will remain valid.
