LTFRB cancels Dimple Star bus franchise after deadly crashes 261 SHARES Share it! “We are cancelling the franchise of the entire fleet of Dimple Star because of repetitive recklessness in their transport service. Based on the records from the LTFRB, Dimple Star Bus Company has been involved in eight road crashes from 2011 to 2018, including the fatal incident in Occidental Mindoro, which led to the deaths of more than 25 people and injuries of 134 others. Initially, the LTFRB slapped a 30-day preventive suspension order on Dimple Star buses on the franchise plying the route from San Jose, Occidental Mindoro to Manila. In one of its hearings last April, transport regulators were surprised to learn that the Dimple Star bus, which fell into a ravine in Occidental Mindoro after reportedly losing its brake, was built from scrap bought from a junkyard.
