MANILA, Philippines — The Light Rail Transit-2 (LRT-2) line will be delaying its first trip for an hour on Friday (March 13) to make way for maintenance work near the line’s power rectifier, the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) said Tuesday. LRTA, which operates LRT-2, said the first trip from the Cubao Station and Recto Station will start at 6 a.m. instead of 5 a.m. to make way for the Manila Electrical Company’s (Meralco) maintenance near the rectifier station. ADVERTISEMENT“On Friday, March 13, the LRT-2 system will start its commercial operation at 6 am to make way for Meralco maintenance activity near Rectifier Substation (RSS) 4,” read the statement posted on Twitter. LRTA added that the last commercial train trip will still be at 8:30 p.m. from Cubao Station and from Recto Station. On Oct. 8, LRT-2 started partial operations which means the line’s trains only run from Recto Station to Cubao Station and vice versa.
