THE low pressure area (LPA) embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) may develop into a tropical depression and would be named “Domeng” when it enters Philippine territory, the state-run weather bureau said on Monday. “The LPA may develop into a tropical depression within 24 to 48 hours. It is forecast, however, to bring cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over eastern Visayas and Caraga. Palawan, Bicol region, and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms caused by the ITCZ. Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will likely experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers because of localized thunderstorms but with “no significant impact” all throughout the day, Pagasa said.
