LPA brings rains over Visayas, Mindanao on Friday

LPA brings rains over Visayas, Mindanao on FridayA low pressure area (LPA) will bring rains in most parts of Visayas and Mindanao throughout the weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Friday. In its advisory, PAGASA said this will cause cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao, Mimaropa and Bicol. Light to moderate winds will blow from northeast to east over Luzon, and from southwest to south over Visayas and the rest of Mindanao with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA added. The LPA was spotted 4 a.m. at 370 km east of Borongan, eastern Samar province, embedded along an intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) currently affecting Visayas and Mindanao, according to the state weather bureau. PAGASA said moderate to occasional strong winds will blow from southwest over eastern Mindanao, and its coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough.
