MANILA, Philippines — Bayan Muna chair and senatorial candidate Neri Colmenares and other militant groups staged a protest against the reclamation of the Manila Bay during the launch of an organization tasked to monitor the rehabilitation of the famed tourist spot. Colmenares, along with Anakpawis Rep. Ariel Casilao, former Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo, and Kadamay chairperson Gloria Arellano, were present during the launching of the Manila Bay Watch, a group formed by activists, environmental advocates, and fisherfolk which will scrutinize the government’s moves regarding the Manila Bay rehabilitation.
