Truth Barbecue first opened in Brenham in 2015 by Leonard Botello IV, who serves as the owner and pitmaster. Four years later, Botello opened a second location at 110 South Heights Boulevard in Houston. According to their website, www.truthbbq.com, Botello makes everything from scratch. His barbecue is described as “authentic Central Texas style dedicated to the history of Texas barbecue, and his relentless attention to detail.”
