LNG project location woes stall timeline PNOC to join Phoenix-CNOOC venture 0 SHARES Share it! Share TweetBy Myrna M. VelascoThe planned 2.2-million tons per annum (mtpa) liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal of Uy-owned Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. and China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) still has hurdle on its project site, hence, the initial pre-construction timelines are being moved. Based on its project timeline, the Tanglawan LNG project should have had its groundbreaking first quarter of this year – but that target already lapsed. Phoenix Petroleum reiterated that it is targeting its LNG terminal on commercial stream toward the end of 2023; and integrated to it will be 2,000 megawatts of gas-fired power capacity. “The facility will help support the demand for a clean, competitive and environment-friendly energy source in Luzon and provide energy security for the country,” Phoenix Petroleum said.
